The Perch was a competition entry to design a contemporary rural house that serves as a peaceful retreat for a busy, city-based family who enjoy birdwatching and spending quality time together. Inspired by the concept of a nest, the design focuses on creating a safe, nurturing space that blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. The architecture takes cues from the form and movement of bird wings, with a structure that flows gently down a hillside and features lookout points across the landscape. Using natural materials and thoughtful detailing, The Perch offers a sanctuary for rest, connection, and reflection.
